ADMINISTRATIVE

DownCity Design is seeking a part-time Summer Communications Intern to help us share the exciting work that DCD is doing with our existing friends and fans, and help us expand our reach to new audiences. The Communications Intern will assist us with community outreach, program documentation, and social media posts for our 6-week Summer Design Studios! Please note: This internship is offered in partnership with RISD’s Off-Campus Work Study Program, and is only available for domestic RISD undergraduate/graduate students with federal work study eligibility.

Teaching, mentoring, or advising youth
Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop, Illustrator, & InDesign)
3D modeling in Google SketchUp, Rhino, or similar programs
Design / Build experience and carpentry skills
Construction and project management skills
Industrial design, graphic design, user experience design, or architecture background
Digital fabrication and rapid prototyping skills (3D printing, laser cutting, etc)
Experience with designing, building, and programming robots and/or FIRST Tech
