Interested in making an impact in your community?
DownCity Design is always looking for volunteers to help in a wide variety of areas: participating in our community build days, serving as a TA in after-school programs, designing promotional materials, or leading one-time workshops that teach our students about a special trade, technique, or craft. College Students
Consider serving as a teaching assistant in our after-school programs. If you have skills in industrial design, graphic design, engineering, or art, are looking for a long-term, immersive volunteer experience, and have an interest in youth education, this is the position for you.
We always need help creating materials to promote our work and programs. If you have graphic design skills and a passion for community engagement, let us know!
Design and Industry Professionals
Consider giving a tour of your office or studio to our young designers or giving a presentation on design practice or career exploration. You can also partner with us to facilitate a design thinking workshop for educators and community groups. Looking for sustained engagement with our organization? Reach out to us to learn more about one-on-one youth mentoring for an aspiring designer.
Community Members
Look out for one of our Community Build Days, where we invite our friends and neighbors to help transform a space in Providence. At Community Build Days, it's all hands on deck, so come with what you know and we'll show you the rest!
