DCD DISCOVER: DIGITAL FAB
DCD Discover: Digital Fab is a free afterschool program for Providence students in grades 7–10 that bridges middle and high school learning through hands-on exploration of digital design and fabrication. In this program, you'll get to use cool tech tools like:
CAD software (computer design programs)
3D scanners and 3D printers
Laser cutters
Plotters (drawing machines)
You'll combine these digital tools with traditional art-making to bring your ideas to life and see how how art, design, and technology all come together! Through creative projects and inventive design challenges, you'll build problem-solving skills and learn how to work with others. This is also an opportunity to connect with local Rhode Island businesses in manufacturing and engineering so that you can see how these skills are used in actual jobs and learn about possible career paths.
